Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles, released naturally by cells that promote communication between your own cells. They act as messengers, carrying a cargo of proteins, lipids, and genetic material (RNA and DNA). This intercellular communication plays a vital role in various biological processes, including tissue repair, regeneration and immune response.
Exosomes derived from specific cell types, such as mesenchymal stem cells, they contain growth factors and signalling molecules that can stimulate hair follicle activity and promote hair growth. Â

Exosome therapy for hair loss involves delivering these vesicles directly to the scalp, typically through microneedling. Once delivered, exosomes work in several ways to revitalize hair follicles:
Stimulating hair follicle growth:Â Exosomes contain growth factors like VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), which promotes blood vessel formation, improving nutrient supply to hair follicles. Other growth factors, such as KGF (keratinocyte growth factor) and FGF (fibroblast growth factor), directly stimulate hair follicle cells to grow and proliferate.
Promoting hair follicle regeneration:Â Exosomes can help repair damaged hair follicles and promote the formation of new ones. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with thinning hair or early stages of baldness.
Reducing inflammation:Â Chronic inflammation can contribute to hair loss. Exosomes have anti-inflammatory properties that can help create a healthier environment for hair growth.
Improving scalp health:Â By promoting cell regeneration and reducing inflammation, exosomes can improve overall scalp health, creating an optimal environment for hair growth.
Procedure
The skin is cleansed and disinfected. Microneedling is used to create tiny micro-injuries across your skin. This allows the exosomes, when applied, to penetrate deep into the skin or hair follicle to have optimal effect. Post treatment the skin will be red which should settle in 1-2 days.
Post procedure instructions
It is important to protect and provide extra care for your skin for at least 2-3 days following a microneedling treatment. It is common to feel a mild sunburn sensation for 24-36 hours after the treatment. Make sure you follow the advice below.
Drink water to aid the skin to heal and rejuvenate
Avoid UV exposure and use a SPF50
Avoid intensive exercise and swimming for the for the first 36 hours
Avoid excessively hot showers
Avoid using make-up for 24 hours
Avoid active topical skincare skin care
