Muscle Relaxing

All new clients to the clinic must have a consultation at least one day prior to treatment, even if they have had treatment before at a different clinic.

Botox

Once only available to the rich and famous, Botox is now an affordable treatment for everyone. It is the UK's most popular non-surgical treatment.

Botox is a purified natural protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium. It is a prescription only medicine administered by Doctors, Dentists or Independent Nurse Prescribers. Botox is used to soften lines and wrinkles which appear with expression, (dynamic lines), not for lines that can be seen without facial movement (static lines), although these will be softened. Botox is usually used to soften crow's feet, forehead and frown lines. However, it can also be used to soften lip and bunny (nose) lines.

Procedure

Botox treatments take approximately 20 minutes. The skin is cleansed and then swabbed with an alcohol wipe. A khol pencil is used to mark the injection points and the injections themselves are usually painless. You should begin to see a softening of facial movement within 3-4 days, the full effect will be seen in 14 days and results usually last up to 4 months. At the end of your treatment an appointment will be made for a free check-up to assess the results. The treated skin can be red, with slight swelling, occasionally bruising can occur.

Post procedure instructions

  • Do not massage the treated area at all. If the area is washed, gently pat dry. Do not rub the treated area for 48 hours.

  • Do not bend excessively or lie down for 4 hours.

  • Do exercise the treated muscles by tensing and relaxing them for the first hour after treatment.

  • Botox takes from 2-14 days to become effective. This is dependent on the strength of the muscle injected and the individual response to it.

  • Treatment with Botox is temporary and to maintain the effects, treatment is recommended every 3-6 months.

  • You should always wear a sunscreen (minimum SPF25), we recommend SkinCeuticals Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 50 even in winter.
