Polynucleotides are injectable, natural DNA fractions, usually derived from purified salmon or trout sperm, which are highly biocompatible with human tissue. They are used in aesthetic medicine to regenerate skin at a cellular level. It is safe, sterile and free from proteins which could trigger allergic reactions. As bio-stimulators, they boost collagen, elastin, and fibroblast activity, improving skin texture, hydration, and elasticity.
Unlike fillers, they rejuvenate skin from within, without adding volume or changing facial structure. When they are injected the fibroblasts in the skin are stimulated thus promoting the production of collagen and elastin.
Hydrating, plumping results in skin fine lines, wrinkles and dark under eye circles all being reduced. Can be used anywhere on the body but are particularly useful in the delicate eye area and around the mouth to soften lipstick lines.
Results appear gradually in 3-4 weeks with optimal results at 3 months.
A course usually requires 3 sessions, spaced 2-3 weeks apart.
Procedure
The area to be treated is cleaned and numbed with a topical anaesthetic cream. A fine needle is used to deliver the product into the superficial to mid-dermal layers of the skin. There may be a slight sting when the polyneucleotides are injected, but the treatment is generally quick and comfortable. Any discomfort typically resolves shortly after treatment.
